Bengaluru, 20 July 2022: Ahead of Prime Day on July 23 & 24, 2022, Amazon India has launched 5 new artisanal brands under Amazon Karigar, on the marketplace. This includes SuTa, Karagiri, Aditri, Tjori and Koskii. With the launch of these brands under Amazon Karigar program, customers can now shop for authentic Indian artisanal products like women’s wear and accessories. Customers shopping from these authentic emerging Indian brands during Prime Day will in turn inspire, empower and expand economic opportunities for the artisan and weaver communities associated with these brands.

To help Prime Members ‘Discover Joy’, and benefit from additional customer demand and limitless business opportunities made available through the Prime Day sale event, these brands are launching 1000+ new products with contemporary designs. In addition, artisans and weavers from Amazon Karigar are offering selection from over 470 crafts like Handblock printed sarees & furnishings, Rajasthani kathputlis, Kanjivaram sarees, and Dhokra figurines, amongst others, from across India.

“Amazon Karigar was launched to bring to the fore the talent India’s skilled craftsmen and artisans have to offer. We’re humbled to launch homegrown artisanal brands that  work with artisans and weavers across India to offer genuine made in India products to customers and make their shopping experience on Amazno.in trustworthy and enjoyable. Through Amazon Karigar, we will provide a platform to unlock limitless business opportunities for these brands as they showcase 400+ products during Prime Day on July 23 and 24. We will continue to collaborate with these brands to expand product selection by bringing in local art forms, benefiting both our customers as well as the artisan and weaver community,” said Sumit Sahay, Director, Selling Partner Services at Amazon India.

Sujata and Taniya, co-founders, Suta, said, “Amazon is a great marketplace to directly engage with millions of customers across India and the globe. Over the years, we have seen the reach and impact of Prime Day on small businesses and are really excited to have joined Amazon Karigar, just in time for the sale event. We have launched 384 new products such as kurtas, dresses and blouses for Prime Day 2022 and are hoping to grow our business by 30x during the two-day shopping fiesta.”

Since the launch of the Amazon Karigar program in 2017, Amazon.in has on boarded more than 4500 sellers including master weavers, co-operatives, artisans, brands and APEX bodies to sell online. The program has made a difference in the lives of over 15 lakh artisans and weavers across India. Amazon.in has also partnered with over 30 Government Emporiums and 5 Government bodies to showcase authentic crafts to craft lovers and increase market connectivity. Today, Karigar showcases over 2 lakhs+ products, including 470+ unique arts and crafts from across the country. By launching on Amazon, these brands will also get access to a wider market base, bringing in greater recognition for the work of craftsmen associated with them and create more employment opportunities in the process.
