A voice-based hiring assistant, launched at Amazon India Career Day 2021,
to enable a seamless experience for candidates applying for a job at Amazon

Bengaluru, 16 September 2021: Amazon today announced the launch of ‘Virtual Recruiter’, an Alexa skill which will enable interested candidates to access relevant information about the company. The newly launched skill will make it easy for candidates who aspire to join Amazon to get information about the company’s interview process, policies, and also custom guides and training resources that will prepare them better for their selection process.

Available across all Alexa-enabled devices, Alexa app and Amazon shopping app (Android only), the skill can be used by candidates to get learning feed, access training resources, watch videos and receive periodic updates. The Alexa skill also has an option where users can agree to receive additional details on their queries or follow up information on their email.

“At Amazon, we are guided by our passion to innovate for customers to make their lives simpler. Virtual Recruiter is a step in the direction of making the candidate experience smoother and seamless”, said Raj Kaza, Director, Talent Acquisition – Consumer, APAC, Amazon. “We are excited to launch this Alexa skill that will act as an on-demand hiring assistant and help candidates with authentic information about Amazon and help prepare for their desired roles at the company.”

Virtual Recruiter will help candidates save time and limit touchpoints with recruiters by sharing the right information about their queries, thereby improving candidate experience and making it seamless, engaging, and intuitive. This voice-enabled skill helps candidates find accurate and consistent information, in a manner that is instant, contextual, and accurate, as it sources information from Amazon.

Virtual Recruiter skill was launched at Amazon India Career Day. At  its inaugural edition, the event brought together Amazon leaders and employees to share what makes Amazon an exciting workplace, what is it like to work here and how the company is steadfast in its commitment to help India unleash its true potential in the 21st century.

The free Virtual Recruiter skill is available starting today, and can be accessed by following these simple steps:

  • To get started on your Alexa-enabled device, just say “Alexa, enable Virtual Recruiter”
  • For mobile/desktop, visit Alexa skills store on amazon.in/skills and search/enable ‘Virtual Recruiter’
